Recipe #1: The Ultimate Hand Leveller

This is an interesting take on the classic “singles, doubles, paradiddles” warmup most drummers will be familiar with. Here you play each rudiment over a triplet subdivision. This really highlights the difference between each hand as there is an even ratio of rights and lefts falling on the beat, which isn’t the case when played as 16th notes. What’s more, because you are playing just one bar of each rudiment you will play the exercise beginning on the right hand for the first 3 bars, and the left hand for the second 3 bars. Keep all strokes even with NO ACCENTS, and always tap your foot on the beat……
